Teeth whitening in Coulsdon - a bright smile can take years off your appearance and make you smile more.
Teeth discolouration is a natural process that occurs as we age, despite maintaining excellent oral health. Our habits such as smoking, excessive consumption of tea/coffee, chewing tobacco etc. can sometimes quicken the discolouration.
Teeth whitening at our practice in Coulsdon is the most sought after cosmetic dental treatment. A lot of our patients combine teeth straightening, composite bonding and whitening to get their desired smile.

No, the procedure does not hurt as it does not involve drilling. You may experience some sensitivity after treatment which wanes around 24 hours later.
Teeth whitening has been under a lot of scrutiny lately. It is one of the safest, least-damaging cosmetic treatments. Research has suggested that if carried out by a trained professional, there is no damage to the tooth surface. This treatment can only be carried out by GDC registered professionals so you should check the qualifications and training of the person before committing to this treatment.
By and large yes, however, some people may not get the desired results as the teeth may be naturally less white. Genetics, dietary habits and smoking tend to be the factors that influence this treatment.
Zoom delivers remarkable results instantly after the treatment. some of our patients like to combine Zoom with a home whitening kit.
Laser teeth whitening can deliver results in 90 minutes. It takes another couple of days, with regular use of whitening gel to see the final results, whereas the home whitening kit when used on its own takes up to 10 days and full results become noticeable after 2 weeks.
Teeth whitening does not last forever. Depending on the system chosen, it can last for 2-3 years. If your diet consists of food or drinks that stain your teeth (excessive tea/coffee, red wine, smoking or chewing tobacco), you can expect it to last for 6-12 months.
Whiter teeth does not necessarily mean healthy teeth. Maintaining a good oral health routine, visiting the hygienist and cutting out the acid from diet means your teeth will naturally stay whiter. Please make sure that you only approach a qualified, GDC registered, and fully-trained professional for this treatment. If in doubt, don’t be shy to ask if they are GDC registered as anybody delivering teeth whitening treatment without a General Dental Council registration is breaking the law.
